vanity painted and color update

  1. I really like the color! I see that the UI you put in looks similar to mine but things are cut/rearranged. Did you guys meet to discuss changes to the UI? I would proceed and go farther with it (animate it and filter it) but Keith said he might wanna make tweaks to it.

  2. We have not had a meeting to discuss about the UI. It's just what I think is a good arrangement for it. We should probably decide soon..

  3. The changes to the UI in this are very similar to the changes I made in the boards (to be posted shortly) Basically we need to keep it as minimal as possible so we can easily direct the audience's eye and only include what we absolutely need.

  4. I'm not sure how I feel about the color. Thus far a lot of our color choices have been warm, generally in the orange-pink range. If it were are slightly cooler in color (towards warm violet) it may stand out against the background better. Also, the dark brown desk makes me think it's wood, which looks too 1960/70s. It doesn't need to be futuristic "white" but I think brown is going to create confusion. (Remember that grays can have color in them too.)

Also, especially after courtney's crit I feel like I have to bring up the fact that the top pipe, which will animate to slide around the mirror to the bottom, hugs the top curve of the mirror, but not the side. Meaning that when we animate it sliding around it'll have to change shape to conform to the side. I don't know if this will look very good when we finally do it. Perhaps the top pipe could be a different shape? Something smaller which could conceivably fit around the entire mirror. Such as a small circle, square or triangle. The scanner can still rest there, it could still move, but it wouldn't have to deform to get to it's secondary position.
I'm sorry to bring this up so late, but I'm anticipating a problem with the animation there.

    1. Good calls Allena. I thought about that to (the "pipe" animation problem). I also agree with the cooler color suggestion, that's why I tried a bright aqua for the UI. I didn't think about it previously but the brown does feel like wood/older.
