More Style Tests

Hi Guys!

Here are some more style tests. My personal favorite is #5. Let me know which ones you guys like, or if you hate all of them, haha.

  1. Hi Lauren,
Overall, I'm loving these. I'm curious as to what color's would work best with the story point of the film. Without knowing this, 2 is my personal favorite in terms of color palette. (just alter the color of the UI to a more hologram-ie color to help it read better)
but, without knowing the color significance to the story, I'm unable to say which one is the best solution.
    Keep up the amazing work!!

  2. Hi Lauren!
I personally like the more colorful one which is #2 because I feel that it matches the fun energy of our story better.. Even though I am a fan of pink-black combination, I feel that it looks too goth for our story..
If we end up going with a more colorful palette, we could probably play with lowering the level of saturation of the background to make the characters stand out even more.. And also the color of the background line drawing could be something of a lighter color, closer to the background like how you have it in #3 & #5 so it wouldn't take too much attention away from the characters..
    Overall, looking good!

  3. I'm loving #4, although it's not right for our story. Number 2 is grabbing me but it's reading as 70's to me.. I like #5 as well. We'll need to lose the BG elements like the walls and frames etc.
We might try suggesting different planes of perspective to give depth, unless a flat texture will work. Awesome stuff!

  4. These look great!
I'm enjoying #2 as well, but I agree with Michelle that we could try taking that BG down in saturation.
#5 is nice too, there's a lot I like about it, but it feels so dark! Perhaps a lighter BG at the same sat level? I like how the BG elements are roughed in and loose. In #5 they stand out less, which is good.
Yeah, Keith, #2 is a little 70s. Perhaps its the orange with the red? Maybe the more subtle background and a dress which pops less would help.

  5. #4 would be cool to use after Debra has left the room, since, if I remember correctly, she turns out the lights when she leaves. I think the otherworldliness of the palette would go well with Jessica's shenanigans.

    1. Oooo. Possibilities. Even #5 could work. Either way, good thought on the mood changing with the lights off.
