Hi guys. This is a style test based on Coles Phillips' work. I was trying different color combination to see how it would look. Let me know what you guys think.
i think my favorite it the center one as far as color goes, maybe a bit to pink tho? I also like how debs hair contrasts with the blue one and the bottom center one. But idk about the fade away...it was a bit distracting at first glance, but it might be ok if we can nail a color scheme :)
These have a nice futuristic quality to them! I don't think the fade away is going to work for our film. Bunny told us to look at Colles Phillips for his graphic simplicity. I also think that there's not enough contrast. The characters are fading into the background, we want them to really stand out.
Thanks for the feedback Alisia and Lauren. I thought the fade away is the most unique quality of his work, which was why I gave it a try. I think why his reads well is because he silhouettes the "fadeaway dress" better with the background elements.. I would try silhouetting them better and I would also try giving them a different color dress to make them pop. Also, I still like the idea of looking at Gruau because he uses a lot of black&white against color or vice versa, which I remembered is what Bunny like to see.. I will post more tests with these ideas in mind.
