First Pass at Color Script

  1. Hey Edgar, I don't know a whole lot about color scripting, so as you work on these can you also post your thoughts behind the changes? That way we can give better feedback.

  2. Yes I can. I agree that thoughts behind choices are essential because this is probably the most abstract part of development. Michelle has already mentioned that there should be more contrast in color when Jess rises in front of the Vanity. I will get one more pass before tomorrow, with thoughts on process and choices.

  3. Hey Edgar,
Great that you're taking this on. Not an easy task to get the use of color and lighting to tell a story (and to match the one we're telling)
I think there are some awesome articles and references online about Toy Story 3 and they're color direction on Dice Tsutsumi's blog that might help the thought process and how to go about approaching a color script. One thing I got from it was, colors representing feelings, qualities in the story, and or verbs describing the feeling of the story from a particular person's point of view in the film. In your next pass, it would be awesome to see that in your color choices. Right now, your colors feel very literal and lack an emotional, and story arc. Looking forward to seeing your next post and happy painting bro!!
