House painted in 2 different styles

Two different styles. Second one is closer to what we've discussed as our style with the color and heavy outline.

  1. I definitely like the direction of the second one better, but I think it could have a little more color, since it's the establishing shot.

  2. I also like where the second one is going, and I agree with Allena's statement, more values, perhaps colors, right now I can hear Courtney saying that it looks unfinished.
I also would not have Deb's light be the only one turned on, it should be the brightest however as it should be where the audience is looking. Unfortunately I'm not seeing why Courtney called the line drawing a "thumbnail". Perhaps the group can comment on how to plus this drawing???

  3. Perhaps a little more detail on the house (the door is just a square right now, etc). Even with the style we're going for, there's no reason detail shouldn't be suggested at, even if it's left unfinished in places.
The car could use some designing too. Think about the walkway and what it's made of. And give the trees some more consideration as to shape and construction.
Even if you don't draw everything realistically, it can also be more than a simple shape.

And I'm not a fan of that dark dark line around the house. Sure, outline it, but use variety in the width of the line. That might help.

  4. I think filling in the trees and car with color would help it look more finished. Sure have the house have the most contrast against the background, but it feels unfinished right now because the house is the only thing filled. Also, the second drawing doesn't have an evening feeling as much as the first. I think if we filled the trees and car with the current house color and darkened the house, maybe the whole piece overall, it would feel more like evening.
