The State of Things 2/9

Hey Crew,
First off thanks for being such an great collaborative team during the cluster of craziness this production has become.
Why is it crazy? Answer: We have no pipeline. That is no one's fault, it's just the way the class is set up.
So we have to do as best we can to keep things going smoothly.

The Vanity and Layouts:
The vanity is priority 1 at the moment. Getting this locked down means getting the BG layouts done (because they consist mostly of the vanity), which means we can start animation!
Our Viz Dev team and Modelers have been working diligently to get the design finalized. Nick has been working on the UI which is also integral to the BG layouts.

Model Sheets:
The next priority. Lauren has posted her progress on the model sheets and has been working (as I type) with the Animators in a feedback test loop to get these looking great.

Audio:
Nick, Justin and I recorded Jessica's dialogue yesterday to great success with the help of Justin's theater friend Theresa. We have a couple Debra's lined up for recording this week and I will be providing the voice of the Vanity.
This is important as animators need dialogue to time out their shots
Kayla has been researching possible music to score the film.

Animatic:
I'm working on making the last tweaks to the story boards and timing out the animatic so we can get accurate shot times to the animators once the layouts are complete.

Style and Color:
Extremely important but not a huge priority this week as there are other more pressing matters (see above).  Work should continue in this area as it will quickly move up to priority one.
Discussions are happening right now to resolve our style and I thank all those who are participating.

Animation Style:
We'll need to decide on this soon. Aldo has been doing animation tests with the characters. Talk to him if you have a strong idea about what we can do to bring these characters to life!

IF YOU FEEL LIKE YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO:
        Don't worry! Don't panic!

Draw from the model sheets. Providing feedback to Lauren is important. Now is the time to make notes, alterations, and instructions on how to animate the characters. Be vocal. There may be things that crop up later that Lauren and Aldo haven't thought of that could be revealed now.

Gather reference. Film yourself, film an actor, etc.   i.e. Batia is researching how we can approach the hover boots.

Look at the animatic. Is there something we are not talking about? Overlooking? Find a place where you can help and fire it up.

Thank you all so much. It's inspiring to see you all working together to get this thing looking great and get done! Keep up the hard work! We're doing it!
