My mind has been blown away!!

Guys,

Recently, I've been picking Diana's brain with/for the fashion and make up scene and she pointed me in the direction of the movie "Devil wears Prada."

I've only gotten through the first half of it and it's seriously blowing my mind with ideas, influences, on what and how we can make this future of cosmetics be the future of cosmetics.

Women are interested in fashion because they see it as wearing art. Bags, shoes they're interested in the design and the estetic. It's something they're interested in like putting on make up.

Our thinking so far has been great from a animation illustration mindset, but we have to be thinking from a fashion mindset. In the movie, they reference countless fashion designers names.

People are wearing the art pieces. Iconography used to express individuality.
Fashion is artwork and they, our viewers of the tech, want to copy, emulate it, wear it!
Our product is the gateway for that.
Through following fashion designers like Runway on a cloud/pinterest viewing style system, women of the future can follow the current artist and wear their favorite pieces.

All of the top people of an era (public figures) follow the fashion designers of that era. People are still creating the product these people have created because these designers were so fashion forward, functional, and looked amazing.

Capture your inspiration, and channel it in your look.

Our future of cosmetics machine has to be able to draw reference for the user from classic looks of the era's. Need a classy look? try Audrey Hepburn. Sultry-Sexy? Sophia Lauren. Cute? Zoe Deshenell. This list can go on and on of different iconic looks and designs from movies, fashion, all of it in this vanity mirror tech device.

Please, watch "Devil Wears Prada."
I think it's a great resource for our project that we can use to really plus our project.

Thoughts??

  1. This would definitely help with pushing what the tech can do in our film. I do feel like we should keep in mind our character's goal. Debra being the typical teenage girl who wants to impress a dumb teenage boy for prom or whatever. The look would entail a bit different style. I think that this i a good way to think about it and direction to go. Just dumb it down for the age of the characters and for her purposes.
