More Layouts!!

Hey Layout People (Edgar and Michelle so far)

Below are three more layouts that are set. Aldo and Frankie are working on the new storyboards for the first half of the film.

Right now Edgar and Michelle are doing BG layouts, if you want to help, contact them so as to not start on a workflow they have already established.

Ideation for the vanity's table and stool

Hi guys. I did this yesterday.. I don't know why I didn't post them sooner, but here they are. I was trying to incorporate the simple quality of the vanity's design, but I would be happy to try out some silhouette from Melanie, and/or maybe try more silhouettes tomorrow. I'm planning to finalize it as soon as possible so I could start working on the layout.

I also did board ideas for the beginning part, but Frankie said he and Aldo had been talking about similar ideas, so I probably don't need to post them here..

UPDATE:
Adjusting the height to match Jessica and Debra better..

Character Update

I made changes to the characters (mostly on jess) based on the suggestions given. It seems subtle, so I made notes where I made changes. Get back to me ASAP with feedback. I'd like to crank out the model sheets so we can get character layouts going and get the animators drawing. Thanks guys!

Update: Keith gave his feedback. Feet and hands need clarification. Debs fingers too pointy. I'll fix all that once I take the characters to finish and they are cleaned up.

Any opinions on Deb's bangs? We like her with or without them.

LAYOUTS!!! (Finally)

Hey Crew,
So it's time to start doing the background layouts for our film.
Frankie, Aldo and myself met today to discuss the storyboards regarding what Bunny had to say about changing the establishment of the bedroom vanity etc.

Chai also came in and gave his two cents which was basically "Bunny might yell at you....but I think the story is clear as is, I would go to layout". With the exception of the establishing shot.

That being said, Aldo and Frankie are hard at work at revising the parts of the boards that need it and will be posting progress this evening.

The last 5 shots of the film however, I think, can start to be put into layout. I think Edgar and Michelle had volunteered to help with that? Melanie would be a great help in that area as well.

Basically we'll need a simple line drawing for each background for the animators to draw on top of, and for the BG artists to paint on.

This can be done in Photoshop and then we will print them out on large paper to do Character layouts on.

Character layouts will be done by Aldo and Lauren (if that's cool). But the character layouts will need to be done AFTER the characters are complete (which Lauren is working on now)

Some of the shots will not require a BG Layout such as the second to last shot where it is simply a close up of Jessica's face, that will just be a character layout.

The layout for the last shot can just be the layout from the third to last shot

Here are the last 5 shots:

Character Designs

Hey Guys,
So the critique that Courtney gave on the characters was that they did not seem like they belonged to the same film. I've talked to some group members and we've come up with some suggestions!

- The eyebrows:  Debra's eyebrows look like they are part of the form of her face, but Jessica's are clearly floating above her head.

- The noses:  Jessica's nose is a closed circle shape, whereas Debra's is just a mark, perhaps if we open the shape of Jessica's nose they will look more cohesive.

- Hands: When the hands get more defined, they can also work to make the two more cohesive together

- Aldo also suggested separating Jessica's legs more at the crotch so they don't intersect with one another.

Hope this helps!
