Animation style again!

Hey guys,
Just wanted to get your opinions on the animation style. Time is a factor for being able to match the once upon a wintertime style well so I wanted to see what everyone thought (not just animators) if we wanted to still strive for that or some sort of variation of it. If we go towards the visual style of graphic looking characters with no outlines or contour lines this style also makes sense for that but it is a difficult style to pull off. Our character volumes would have to be on point since contour lines help hide some of animation inconsistencies, and it might make the clean up phase take longer (it did at least when we did it for the Brandon's goal commercial)

Here's once upone a wintertime again

and here's another cool little short

and here's a rough test of my shot I did on flash without too much emphasis on style other than the smear lines (its also not fully inbetweened)

But yea let me know what you think, and if you have other shorts in mind please share them!

  1. hey man, off to a great start!! I'm curious as to how she's able to invert. did I miss something? Is the vanity mirror anti gravity inducing? Also, check out the timing on each of the pointing accents, they're a few that are pretty even to one another.
Keep it the awesome work dude!!
(Death by Lemonade's animation sense I think it right up the alley for this project-Good find man!!) Looking forward to seeing the fixes and next posts :]
